A valuable pot that has been polished by time.

1950~90年代に仏具として生産され、行くあてもないまま倉庫に残された過去の金属工芸品。
私たちは、それらを現在の技巧と化学反応させることで、「わびさびポット」として再生しました。
「過去」と「現在」の職人たちによる共同制作。時間が磨き上げてきた価値ある「器」に、
私たちは「わびさびポット」と名づけました。

Buddhist metal crafts created between 1950 and 1990 found dormant in the warehouse
were chemically treated to regenerate them as the WABI-SABI Pot.
This creates a collaboration between “past” and “present” craftspeople.

近年、仏具の需要が減少し、行き場をなくした器は溶かされ
金属資源として別の用途で再利用されています。
しかし、それだけでは「職人技の継承」が止まり、伝統工芸自体が消え去ってしまいます。
仏具を別の用途で使用することができれば、職人技の継承は生き残る。
そんな想いを込めて、私たちは仏具を「植木鉢」として再び市場に戻します。

In recent years, the demand for Buddhist equipment, such as traditional incense pots has decreased.
Unused items are often melted and the metals recycled for other purposes.
Continuing this practice would halt “waza no keisho”, or inheritance of technique
and eventually traditional crafts themselves will disappear.
Using Buddhist altar goods for other purposes is a way of ensuring traditional craftsmanship will survive.
With this in mind, we returned the Buddhist incense pots to market as “uekibachi” or flowerpots.
